Frequently Asked Questions about the Bachelor's Degree in International Relations

We are living through geopolitical changes that will shape our future for the coming decades. If you are interested in international politics, diplomacy, the evolution of society, how international business is conducted, or you are drawn to participating in cooperation and development programs to work against poverty, this is your degree.

Our campus is located right in the heart of Madrid, at 14 Arapiles Street. The Chamberí neighborhood, one of the most well-known areas of the most vibrant and cosmopolitan city in Spain, has also become in recent years one of the liveliest and most exciting gastronomic hotspots in the city.

This UNIE program has a morning schedule. For more details, we recommend getting in touch with your advisor or contacting us at https://www.universidadunie.com/contacto/

We will help you understand and apply the principles of International Relations, learn about the characteristics of global geopolitics and the relevance of human rights, and seek solutions to the challenges of the international security system…

You will also learn to analyze current international affairs, legal and social issues, and the historical, political, social, economic and geostrategic dimensions of major world regions; to identify how the State, international organizations and non-state actors function within the international system; to develop international cooperation projects; and to communicate, both orally and in writing, in English, French and Spanish.

You will gain solid knowledge in geopolitics, International Law, history of political ideas, diplomacy, and IR theory. You will deepen your study of key geographical areas in international dynamics and of the fundamental institutions in the field of International Relations.

At UNIE, we also provide cross-cutting training in leadership and team management, communication skills, English focused on IR, and the study of different social research methods within the internationalist discipline. Furthermore, you will be able to specialize in International Law and Economics, Foreign Policy, or International Security.

You will attend theoretical-practical classes that are essential for completing your learning. Interviews, individual or group projects, case analysis and study, experiments, multimedia presentations, participation in debate groups, critiques and reflections, practical problem analysis, simulations, etc. will all be part of the dynamic of this program.

With the Bachelor's Degree in International Relations from UNIE, you will be prepared to analyze and manage the challenges posed by an increasingly globalized and interdependent international society that must face shifting geopolitical, technological, legal, social, climatic, economic and political movements in the international arena.

You will be able to develop your career in both the public and private sectors, as well as in the fields of teaching and research.

The internships consist of a total of 124 mandatory hours during the second semester of the fourth year, and are designed to provide a first-hand approach to professional reality. To support you throughout the process, you will be assigned both an academic tutor and a company-based mentor.

Your Final Degree Project will take place in your fourth year and is a compulsory subject. It will consist of the development of a project or an original, applied case study. Your tutor will help you choose the topic and will oversee its development. You will then be required to defend it before an examining panel, which will evaluate both your work and your presentation.
